Internal Performance Contract Launch at Nalubaale and Kiira Hydro Power Plant
Today, UEGCL launched the Internal Performance Contract (IPC) for the Nalubaale- Kiira complex at the plant premises in Jinja City. The Performance Contract was launched by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, Hon. Ruth Nankanbirwa Ssentamu, and witnessed by the UEGCL Board of Directors, Management, and staff of UEGCL.
Since its transfer from ESKOM in April 2023, UEGCL has been operating the complex and therefore, the IPC is timely as UEGCL looks to ensure the plants’ optimal functionality while enhancing its pivotal role as the Country’s least cost and baseload plant.
The business model has previously been rolled out to the Isimba HPP in 2022 and Namanve TPP in April 2024, yielding remarkable efficiency gains through autonomy and enhancement of Innovations at the Operator level.
