In celebration of International Women’s Day this year, the ladies of UEGCL Head Office proudly represented the organisation through a community outreach visit to Mind Nest Homes in Bukoto.
Mind Nest Homes was established to provide care, protection, and support to vulnerable young mothers and orphans. Beyond meeting basic needs such as food, shelter, and clothing, the organisation places a strong emphasis on mental health and emotional well-being, offering therapy and guidance to help residents rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. The homes, located in the Bukoto slum area behind the International School of Uganda, currently support over 100 mothers and children.
During the visit, the UEGCL team was warmly received and taken on a guided tour of the facility by the Head Mother, alongside Mr. Moses Mpanga, one of the lead coordinators of Mind Nest Homes. The team gained firsthand insight into the impactful work being done to uplift and empower the residents, as well as the challenges faced in sustaining such a vital initiative.
In her remarks, the Head Mother expressed heartfelt appreciation to UEGCL for its generosity and thoughtful engagement, noting that such acts of kindness go a long way in restoring hope and confidence among the beneficiaries. The visit was concluded with remarks from the Chief Finance Officer, Mrs. Susan Taffumba Isubikalu, who reaffirmed UEGCL’s commitment to supporting communities and making a meaningful difference beyond its core mandate.
UEGCL extends its sincere appreciation to all staff who contributed to making this outreach a success. Your compassion and generosity continue to reflect the true spirit of the UEGCL
brand, one that is not only committed to powering the nation, but also to uplifting the communities it serves.
