To celebrate the incredible women who play a vital role in keeping UEGCL and its power plants running smoothly, the ladies gathered at London Hall for a themed breakfast that blended learning, connection, and celebration.
Dressed in denim and shades of pink, the morning created a warm and relaxed atmosphere, offering space for reflection, shared experiences, and meaningful conversations. It was a moment to pause, appreciate one another, and celebrate the strength and resilience that women bring to the organisation every day.
The highlight of the event was an inspiring keynote address by Doris Kimuli, a translator and businesswoman, who shared three simple yet powerful reminders: give without expecting anything in return, embrace opportunities even when you don’t feel fully ready, and continuously share knowledge while uplifting others. Her message resonated deeply with the spirit of this year’s theme, “Give to Gain.”
The morning also provided an opportunity to celebrate growth and achievement within the organisation. Certificates were awarded to participants who completed the UEGCL Women’s Mentorship Programme and the African Management Institute management course, highlighting UEGCL’s commitment to developing strong, capable leaders.
In their closing remarks, the Chief Finance Officer, Mrs. Susan Taffumba Isubikalu, and the Chief Human Resource Officer, Ms. Joyce Nakalema, commended the dedication, resilience, and impact of women across the organisation. They emphasized how women’s leadership, innovation, and commitment continue to shape UEGCL’s growth and success.
Moments like these serve as a powerful reminder that when women support, mentor, and uplift one another, organisations thrive and communities grow stronger.
