Namanve TTP Marks World Day for Safety and Health at Work with Focus  on Mental Well-being

Staff at Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited’s Namanve Thermal Power Plant  marked the World Day for Safety and Health at Work with a focused engagement on mental  wellbeing and its role in strengthening workplace safety. 

Held under the theme Sustaining Uganda’s OSH Gains through Mental Wellbeing and  Organisational Strength,” the session, facilitated by Kampala Capital Development Institute, led by  Dr. Janet Nanzige, highlighted the impact of stress, fatigue, and work pressure on employee  performance and safety. 

Speaking at the event, Acting General Manager Eng. Ronald Sekitene emphasised the  importance of open communication on mental health, while Eng. Rosette Namazzi noted that  mental wellbeing is a critical factor in preventing operational risks. 

Manager Health and Safety Ms. Catherine Nakyeyune urged staff to remain vigilant in reporting  hazards and prioritising safety in all operations. 

The engagement concluded with the signing of the safety board, reaffirming a shared  commitment to a safe and healthy working environment.
