The Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited Board of Directors, accompanied by members of Top Management and led by Board Chairperson Eng. Proscovia Margaret Njuki, today conducted a routine oversight visit to the 600 MW Karuma Hydropower Plant.
The visit formed part of the Board’s ongoing governance and oversight role, providing an opportunity to assess the plant’s operational performance, review maintenance activities, and evaluate the contractor’s performance during the Defects Liability Period. The engagement also enabled the Board to interact with staff and gain firsthand insight into the progress being made to ensure the continued reliability and efficiency of the facility.
During the visit, the Board and Management commended the Karuma team for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and operational excellence. Their efforts have been instrumental in supporting the stable and efficient operation of one of Uganda’s most significant power generation assets.
The oversight visit reaffirmed UEGCL’s commitment to strong corporate governance, operational excellence, and the sustainable management of the country’s electricity generation infrastructure.
