Internal performance contracts between the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, the Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA), and key power sector utilities are enhancing the operational efficiency of Uganda’s power plants. Energy Minister Hon. Nankabirwa emphasized that these contracts establish a clear framework for accountability and improved service delivery. Covering utilities such as UETCL, UEDCL, and Umeme, the initiative aims to boost performance, reduce losses, strengthen infrastructure, and ensure a reliable electricity supply across the country.
