Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL) has launched an Internal Performance Contract (IPC) for the 50MW Namanve Thermal Power Plant in Kiwanga, Mukono District. The launch was attended by Hon. Sidronous Okaasai Opolot, Minister of State for Energy, UEGCL Board members, senior management, and O&M staff.

The IPC aligns with UEGCL’s 2023–2028 Strategic Plan and its Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Business Model, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and staff capacity across all power plants. Since taking over operations in 2022, UEGCL has successfully run the plant with Ugandan staff, ensuring optimal performance and reinforcing Namanve TPP’s role as a critical emergency power provider.
