Scope of Quality Management System
Overview
This document defines the scope and boundaries of the Quality Management System (QMS) implemented by Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL). The QMS is designed to ensure that UEGCL consistently delivers quality services while meeting stakeholder expectations and complying with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standard.
The document applies to all activities, processes, and documentation within UEGCL that fall under the QMS framework and is relevant to the Board, Management, staff, and project teams involved in quality management implementation. It outlines the organizational and operational boundaries of the system, taking into consideration UEGCL’s strategic objectives, legal requirements, interested parties, and the level of control the organization exercises over its services and operations.
A key revision to the document, effective August 2021, expanded the QMS scope to include Clause 8.3 – Design and Development, reflecting UEGCL’s growing role in the planning and development of electricity generation infrastructure.
The QMS scope serves as a foundation for maintaining service quality, ensuring compliance, enhancing customer satisfaction, and supporting continuous improvement across UEGCL’s electricity generation activities.
