Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL) has partnered with Makerere University’s College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT) to develop joint training and research programs in the energy sector.

The collaboration will support student attachments, specialized studies, curriculum development, and research initiatives, including the establishment of the Hydropower Training and Vocational Centre (HTVC).

Dr. Harrison Mutikanga, UEGCL CEO, said the partnership will strengthen capacity development in the energy sector, while Dr. Henry Alinaitwe, CEDAT Principal, highlighted its potential to address key energy challenges in Uganda.

Programs are expected to start in August 2017.
