UEGCL Reports UGX 54 Billion Net Profit at 14th Annual General Meeting
Overview
On 29th January 2025 Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL) announced a net profit of UGX 54.28 billion for the 2023/2024 financial year during its 14th Annual General Meeting at the Ministry of Finance Headquarters in Kampala.
The AGM, chaired by Eng. Proscovia Margaret Njuki, UEGCL Board Chairperson, highlighted revenue growth to UGX 351 billion, a 60% increase in profit after tax, and 9.1% asset growth to UGX 8.4 trillion. Key milestones included mobilizing UGX 133 billion for the Isimba Hydropower Project and the commissioning of the 600MW Karuma Hydropower Plant in June 2024.
Despite liquidity challenges, UEGCL remains committed to operational excellence and sustainable growth under its 5-Year Strategic Plan (2023–2028), aligned to Uganda’s national development priorities.
