Today, the Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL) Board of Directors, led by the Chairperson, Eng. Dr. Florence Lubwama Kiyimba, together with Top Management led by the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Eng. Harrison E. Mutikanga, visited the 600MW Karuma Hydropower Plant in Kiryandongo District.
The visit gave the Board an opportunity to familiarise itself with the plant and gain a deeper understanding of the operations and maintenance activities. During the engagement, the Board received updates on the plant’s operational status and performance, and held discussions with the Owner’s Engineer and the Contractor on the plant’s performance and ongoing activities.
The Board commended the staff at Karuma Hydropower Plant for their dedication and commitment to maintaining safe and reliable electricity generation.
The visit concluded with a guided tour of the plant facilities, providing the Board with an opportunity to observe the plant’s key systems and installations firsthand.
