
UEGCL Hosts Groundbreaking Research and Innovation Symposium to Drive Efficiency in Power Generation.
Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL) convened a two-day Research and Innovation Symposium from 3rd to 4th April 2025 at Speke Resort Munyonyo, under the theme: “Driving Innovative Solutions for Efficient Operation and Maintenance in Power Generation.”
The symposium was officially opened by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa Ssentamu, who reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to supporting innovation in the energy sector.
“The future of Uganda’s energy sector depends on our ability to innovate, collaborate, and implement sustainable solutions. As such, our Government remains fully committed to supporting research that drives efficiency and resilience in power generation,” she noted.
The event brought together leading experts from academia, industry, and government, creating a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange and collaborative research. Participants showcased cutting-edge innovations aimed at enhancing electricity generation and improving the operation and maintenance of power generation facilities.
The symposium not only highlighted UEGCL’s commitment to technical excellence but also underlined the vital role of research and innovation in achieving sustainable, reliable, and cost-effective electricity for Uganda’s development.
