Today, UEGCL joined key stakeholders at the inaugural National Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Conference and Expo 2026, held under the theme “Driving Transformation through ESG: From Commitment to Action.”
The Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) team, led by the Chief Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Officer, Dr. Eng. Mary Akurut, participated in the conference, contributing to discussions and knowledge sharing on strengthening ESG practices across Uganda’s power sector.
Through this engagement, UEGCL continues to contribute to the growing ESG conversation, exploring how the energy sector can drive sustainable development while safeguarding people, supporting communities and protecting the environment.
