Karuma Hydropower Plant, in collaboration with Kiryandongo Hospital, has concluded a two day health sensitisation and screening exercise aimed at promoting infectious disease prevention and control among staff, contractors and the surrounding community.
The outreach provided screening services for HIV, Hepatitis B, Syphilis, Tuberculosis, Sickle Cell Anaemia and Malaria. Participants also received access to medicines, testing services and psychosocial support as part of the broader health interventions.
The initiative reflects UEGCL’s commitment to promoting good health, disease prevention and safe living among its workforce and host communities.
